Corey: When Matt proposed, after the excitement settled, I suddenly realized we are engaged to be what? Then the anger kicked in because marriage inequality hit close to home. Then, as we announced our engagement, we had to deal with the, "oh, are you going to fly somewhere to do a 'little' ceremony, etc."
Matthew: Besides the hundreds of economic benefits marriage affords us, what it really comes down to is. . . now what? My mom was super excited and she asked whether I was going to Iowa or Massachusetts. Haha, I was like, well I want to get married here, surrounded by friends and family.
